Hello Everybody,
Everything you want to know about Flat Feet. That's right. I'll try to post as much information on Flat Feet as possible: Shoes for Flat Feet, Exercises for Flat Feet, Flat Feet and Running, Flat Feet Pain and much much more. I started this blog to share with you my experience with an innovative orthotic for Flat Feet: The Posture Control Insoles. I really like the science behind them and decided to test them and post the results here - they turned out to be great. You can still find my posts on the Posture Control Insoles here, but in the same time I'll try to create the ultimate resource for your Flat Feet concerns. I hope it will turn out Ok. Any suggestions are more than welcome.

My 13 year old daughter has flat feet. After reading your blog I am considering getting her the posture control insoles with arch support. Thanks for all the info and exercises, great work !

Where did you buy the insoles?

I bought them online from Morton’s foot. A link to their website is on this website in the top right under Links.

I’m assuming these insoles don’t work for decent-looking women’s shoes? Or do they? I’m a working mom in the marketing/PR field who seems to have lost her arches thanks to two pregnancies and multiple ankle sports injuries over the years, and clunky shoes aren’t always an option…considering going to a podiatrist but found your blog and thought I’d check on the insoles first. Thanks!

Hey, sorry for the not so quick reply…
Actually the insoles are quite thin as you can see from the photos in the blog.. they are about 2 mm thin. The wedge under the big toe and first metatarsal is of course thicker by either 3 or 6 mm (depending on which of the 2 options you end up needing). I’m not using arch supports, so all in all…very thin (my opinion anyway).
O yeah, another thing..if you end up buying the insoles and are happy with them, I think they have another product designed for women, called Solemate…its just a micro-lift that you stick on your foot under the big toe…basically just the wedge part of the insole. It’s supposed to work fine if you’re wearing high heels.
As I’m not Mel Gibson in “What Women Want”, I didn’t try them….yet.
Cheers, Alex

You’re right, I found the site looking for “exercises for flat feet”. I’m definitely going to check out the website and those insoles. When you stated in your first blog that the wedge is under the toe, it confirmed a “eureka” moment. I noticed that if I could have lift under my toe, my feet (ankles, knees, calves) would feel great. My feet are so flat it’s practically arching in the other direction toward the floor-LOL. Podiatrists have looked at them and said that they’ve never seen feet that flat. So, I hope to learn more about the insoles and hope they may work for me. Orthotics absolutely do not and all doctors have said that. Thank you for posting this information!

Hey Alex!
I have flat fleet and almost all the effects that Morton mentioned on their website (curved spine, rotation of the spine, bony pelvis, etc). Have you received any comments from individuals like me who have seen improvements with use of the posture control insoles? Also, it’s been a while now — what other improvements have you seen for yourself?

@Anne
Hey! I was wondering if you have seen any improvements? I have flat feet. I ordered the 6mm. It’s been about 2 weeks now. Haven’t seen any improvement. I guess I’m just really anxious & hoping to see that there is a solution to this. Please let me know. It would help out a lot
Thanks!

In my case they helped me get rid of my knee problems that were caused by flat feet, my posture has definitely improved (more vertical posture rather than a bit tilted forward before using them), I would say better balance, I think my foot (arch) muscles have strengthened a bit…that’s pretty much it in my case. I got them with the hope they’d help with my knee pain and they did the job. No comments yet from other people who tried the insoles from Morton’s Foot ( Posture Dynamics). I actually welcome any and all comments as they benefit everybody who stumbles upon my site and bring forth more info on other people’s experience.
